Royal Louis 37" is part of an exclusive edition of the Royal Louis, where the model is uniquely identified by a laser cut hull serial number. This model is made of mahogany and teak wood and id 100% hand built using a “Plank on the frame” construction method by the master craftsmen. Stripes of rosewood were added to increase its exotic value.
You can see rows of brass cannons on both sides of the hull, brass rails and fittings at the top, a large brass figurehead in front of the bow, and beautiful art work around the stern. On the deck, there are stairs connected different floors; a wooden dinghy that comes with its own paddles, sky light panel, steering wheel, ship bell and more.
The details are absolutely amazing. It takes hundreds of hours to build the hull and the riggings. This Royal Louis ship model comes with its original French flags and rest on a steady wooden base with
attached metal name plate.
Our Royal Louis is shipped to you assembled and securely packed in a wooden crate to facilitate shipping.
The Royal Louis was a 3-deck vessel with 120 guns and her captain was a Squadron Admiral. She was one of the most powerful first-rank vessels belonging to the French Royal Navy at that time. Our model represents the Royal Louis according to the plans of 1779, when she was Admiral-Ship of the Blue and White Squadron, as part of the American Squadron, also called Earl d'Estaing's.
